2003 LSI Logic - Gresham, OR

Responsible for manufacturing application support and system administration in a 7x24 Integrated Circuit Manufacturing Facility, ASIC Design Center and Worldwide Manufacturing Development Center, serving up to 1500 personnel, as a member of three teams each consisting of 4-5 individuals. Applications include Manufacturing Execution Systems, Auto Dispatching and Statistical Process Control on Oracle, FactoryWorks, and various other tools from Brooks Automation and others. Also supported intranet web services, paging, and network infrastructure.

2000 GST - Vancouver, WA

In a group of four responsible for about 80 systems ranging from Desktops to Enterprise Servers and disk arrays, including oncall support for a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC). Accomplishments include installation of out-of-band control for servers and other serial devices, token authentication, Web-based inventory database. Provide design and troubleshooting support for Corporate WAN. Support commercial applications including Ascend (Lucent) CascadeView, Nortel INM, Remedy, SecurID, Proprietary call collection and billing, Open source software including Apache, Perl, PGP, GNU.

1999 ISPtel - Sacramento, CA

Managed a group of two engineers, responsible for Internet infrastructure and Unix system administration for a global Voice over IP long distance telephone network including billing, routing, DNS, SMTP, HTTP services.

Sharp Microelectronics Technology - Vancouver, WA

Network Engineer

Designed, installed, and maintained the local and wide area networks, telephone and voice mail systems for Sharp's facility in Camas, serving up to 500 personnel. Responsibilities include Firewall, Security, E-mail, and Web (intra-, internet) administration, physical wiring, routers and switches, network, desktop, and server operating systems support. Also included support of a satellite office in Southern California through Frame Relay, VPN, and Voice over IP.

Sr. CIM Engineer

Designed and developed systems for automated manufacturing in local and Japanese locations, including Liquid Crystal Display, Laptop PC assembly, and Integrated Circuit Fabrication facilities. Participated in architecture design and implementation using client server and relational database technologies deployed on Unix servers and DOS and NT clients.

Sr. CAD Engineer

Supported Integrated Circuit Design with a variety of CAD tools on Sun Workstations. Responsibilities included system administration, new tool development, and user support.

1987 Altera - San Jose, CA

Responsible for design and development of a CAD software development system for an Erasable Programmable Logic Device family of integrated circuits. Software was developed for DOS PC's through a Unix cross compiler. The program converts a design from various input formats (schematic, state machine, Boolean equations) to a JEDEC file and interfaces to proprietary programming hardware. Responsible for system administration of Pyramid Unix and VAX VMS.

1984 Zilog - Campbell, CA

Responsible for system administration and user support for 2 VAX 11/780s and an Amdahl V6 supporting up to 200 software and integrated circuit design engineers. Unix 4.2bsd (source) on the Vaxen, and MVX/SP on the Amdahl. Performed modifications to the operating systems for support of various peripheral systems. Developed CAD tools such as optical PG fracturing and CIF plotting programs.

1981 Roseville Telephone - Roseville, CA

Development and support of COBOL telco billing on Burroughs B6800 using reel magnetic tape and punched cards.

1980 Rogers, Kirkman, & Associates - Sacramento, CA

Design, development, onsite support of blood bank management systems in a team of engineers and analysts. Sites in San Francisco, Indianapolis, Richmond, and Fort Worth. Platform was PDP 11/34, 11/70 Unix Berkeley Distribution and the C programming language. Additional responsibilities included development of hierarchical database management systems, Unix kernel, and device drivers.
